Savaging Rifts Attributes Part 1

As I’ve been adapting monsters and whatnot for my own use, I’ve struggled to understand the relative abilities as listed in the original material.

Finally, I sat down and worked out, on paper, for my own benefit, how the attributes from P-Rifts can be Savaged and put them in a spreadsheet that I can refer to.

In my opinion, some of the attribute adaptations are obvious, but some others would, in Savage Worlds, be represented more by Skills, Edges, Hindrances, and modifiers.

For instance, Mental Affinity and Mental Endurance would both be related to Spirit in Savage Worlds, with the former being the ability to influence others and the latter being the ability to resist being influenced (including supernaturally). A character or monster with a low M.E. could just have a low Spirit score, in my opinion, while one with a low M.A. score could have a Hindrance along the lines of being easily influenced, or have the “Yellow” Hindrance.

Part 2 has the table I use to adapt the numbers.

P-Rifts Attribute Abbr. Savaged
Intelligence Quotient I.Q. Smarts
Mental Endurance M.E. Spirit
Mental Affinity M.A. Modifiers to Performance, Persuasion or Intimidation
Physical Strength P.S. Strength
Physical Prowess P.P. Agility
Physical Endurance P.E. Vigor
Physical Beauty P.B. Modifiers to Charisma*,
Attractive Edge,
Charismatic Edge,
Ugly Hindrance
Speed Spd. Pace & Running Die

*Charisma was done away with in SWADE, so this would be bonuses or penalties to Persuasion, Performance, and so on.
